PRO-Net fiber reinforcement allows thinner base and a smaller cross section of prosthetics compared to the unreinforced acrylates, thus reducing the total mass of the prosthesis and facilitating its use.

PRO-Net fiber reinforcement exhibits superior optical properties than other available PMMA reinforcement made of other materials (Cu-Cr alloy, Au alloy and other).

Mechanical properties

PRO-Net is a professional pre-impregnated mesh reinforcement made of E-glass fibers woven in mutually perpendicular directions, thus ensuring controlled mechanical isotropic, ie optimal characteristics in the optimal directions for prosthetic applications. PRO-Net fiber reinforcement has the weaving density of 216 g/cm2 (± 5%) which gives the optimal structure to achieve superior mechanical properties.

In the laboratories the mechanical properties of PMMA (acrylic) specimens reinforced by PRO-Net fiber reinforcement was compared to the properties of non-reinforced PMMA material.

In dental prosthetics, certainly the most important test of applied materials is 3 points bending test (ISO 6872). The results of 3 points bending test for PMMA (acrylic) specimens and PMMA specimens reinforced by PRO-Net is shown in the following table:

PRO-Net fiber reinforcement is made in EU by weaving of transparent glass fibers. After weaving PRO-Net reinforcement get the light color which provides the translucency of reinforced acrylate and poor visibility inside the prosthesis after reinforcement

There is no need for any adhesive bond, impregnation nor any additional coating to achieve chemical bonding of PRO-Net fiber reinforcement and acrylic!

PRO-Net fiber reinforcement is delivered in two pre-shaped forms: for upper and lower dentures. PRO-Net fiber reinforcement for upper dentures has the lines that enable the modification of its shape according the needs of each individual work. PRO-Net fiber reinforcement for lower dentures can be also used for the repairing of prosthesis fractures. PRO-Net fiber reinforcement can be tailored to the shape and dimensions suiting the fracture surfaces.

By use of PRO-Net fiber reinforcement in repair of broken dentures their mechanical properties significantly increasing, it provides almost 70% higher strength, which significantly reduces the risk of re-fracture

PRO-Net fiber reinforcement is packed by two reinforcement in one packet: one PRO-Net reinforcement for upper dentures and one PRO-Net reinforcement for lower dentures or for repair works.

In addition to the packages, PRO-Net fiber reinforcement is shipped in boxes that contain ten packets, ie a total of 20 PRO-Net fiber reinforcement.

Reinforcement of PMMA (acryilic)

  1. Check that the shape and dimensions of the PRO-Net  fiber reinforcement correspond to actual work. If necessary, cut it at the specified lines
  2. In the prepared cuvette to enter half of the planned amount of acrylate
  3. Put the PRO-Net  fiber reinforcement over the acrylate
  4. Used the “spacer” foil over the PRO-Net  fiber reinforcement to evenly positioned it in the middle of acrylate
  5. Remove “spacer” foil
  6. Fill the cuvette with the rest of the acrylate
  7. Close cuvette and polymerized prosthesis
